Disenfranchised - School Counselors

Authorities need help finding a 14-year-old girl from Bell, who has been missing for more than a week.
Monica Amber Valenzuela was last seen leaving Bell High School on 4328 Bell Avenue on June 17.
She is described as Mexican American, about 5 feet, 3 inches tall, with reddish brown hair and braces. She also has a piercing on her lower lip.
Monica's mother said she dropped her daughter off at school last Thursday morning, but when she didn't come home that afternoon, her parents became concerned.
Monica's sister was able to reach her by cell phone, and she said she'd be home in five minutes, but she never arrived.
The family passed out fliers with Monica's photo, and then received a call from a man who said he saw the teen at an apartment in Los Angeles. Police followed the lead but found nothing.
Authorities said Monica ran away from home once in February, but this time, they do not think she ran away.
"We have no evidence that indicates she is a runaway at this time," said Capt. Anthony Miranda of the Bell Police Department.
Anyone with information is urged to call the Bell Police Department at (323) 585-1245.

AMBER ALERT

I think I speak for all of us. This is why we do what we do - tireless vigilance from the place that for some kids is the safest least fearful place they've ever known. Maybe their only exposure to Adults who show them caring and hope. They have food here and a group of caring adults who they no won't hurt them. They may not make As and Bs. Just lost soul with no direction.

Although I have seen a marked effort to improve, CPS is the last agency I call for a kid in serious need. God help the others We don't see. For the small percentage of CPS caseworkers that really care... thank you. Keep modeling the passion and determination for the others. Use California's tough whistle-blowing laws when the wrongs are coming from above. You have the power of the court system you in turn can fix the egregious types of harm evidenced in this video.
